Thus the SunTouch should now control the pump and even if the pump loses power, it won't effect the clock. I was very happy that it now reads Display Not Active.

Fortunately, the seller took a photo of the inside of the unit and the control board part number matched the control board part number in my unit. The first thing you need to do is verify the proper power to the pump. So first I replaced the RS-485 cable but that didn't fix the problem. When we had the original issue I contacted Pentair and they weren't sure if the reason the SunTouch no longer controlled the pump because of the SunTouch, the RS-485 cable or the pump drive. Especially if we were to go away and the pump was running on a different time than the SunTouch. I figured that might not be good for the salt cell. However, the SunTouch turned on and the salt cell was on but without flow. my assumption was that it wouldnt function properly very long because we have timeclocks that say specifically 120v and 240v i did not know that 208-277v clock voltage was a range. The next morning, I noticed the pump hadn't come on. the supply is 240v because its operating a 240v pump clock takes power from the line terminals of the pump supply. Then a few days later we had a power outage. Everything worked fine going with that method. So I figured that I would just turn on the SunTouch and the pump at the same time but with their own clocks. However, if I manually switch the pump to on, it runs fine with no circuit breaker issues. Every time my intermatic timer reaches the 'on' tripper, the pump circuit breaker trips. And I knew the pump was capable of controlling itself. Any ideas to get me started diagnosing are welcome.
The other functions of the SunTouch worked. However, we recently had a neighborhood lightning strike and for some reason the SunTouch no longer controlled the pump.
